Eye Conditions We Treat

Conditions we treat include astigmatism, dry eye syndrome, giant papillary conjunctivitis (GPC), keratoconus, presbyopia, nearsightedness, farsightedness, and more. Below is more information about these conditions.

Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a condition where the front of the eye bulges into the shape of an oval. Blurry vision is the result of astigmatism.

Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry eye syndrome is eyes that become extremely dry, which causes irritation, redness, burning sensations, and blurry vision.

Giant Papillary Conjunctivitis

GPC is a type of conjunctivitis that occurs when the inner eyelid becomes inflamed.

Keratoconus

Keratoconus is an eye condition that is not as common as the others. This condition causes a person’s corneas to bulge out and thin into a conical shape.

Presbyopia

Presbyopia is a hardening of the eye’s intraocular lens, which makes it more difficult to focus on objects that are close by. People that are 40 and over commonly develop presbyopia.

Nearsightedness

Nearsightedness, also known as myopia, is where a person cannot see objects very well from a distance.

Farsightedness

Farsightedness, also known as hyperopia, is when it is hard to read and focus on items that are nearby.

How We Treat These Conditions

We treat these eye conditions in a variety of ways, based on how severe the condition is. We offer plenty of eye care services to correct and bring relief to these eye conditions. Patients who like to wear contacts with these conditions can do so with special, hard-to-fit contacts. Corrective lenses and contacts are also available for more common eye conditions, such as farsightedness and nearsightedness.
